Sea Independent looks back on a special season, of which the sale of the Tallship Royal Helena, renamed Maria Trinidad Sanchez to the Dominican Republic was the highlight. An intensive process that Jos Gielen (Sea Independent Portugal) and Marcel Borgmann worked on for almost 9 months. A good example of cooperation within Sea Independent.
The Market despite the fact that sales prices are under pressure, we see potential growth around the Mediterranean and in the Baltic. Sea Independent is well represented here with agents in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
We are noticing that the behaviour of the the potential buyer is changing. Purchasing actions are more ad hoc and sometimes impulsive. This requires the broker to have an adequate and flexible attitude. Because of the short lines between the agents within Sea Independent and having up-to-date websites, this can be quickly anticipated.
The average lead time on a yacht is currently slightly less than 400 days. And there is a great demand for young used motor and sailing vessels.
As agent of Bering Yachts and RSC Yachts we report that in June this year a Bering 77 expedition has gone under construction and that at RSC Yachts the RSC1900 is in the completion phase. We will keep you informed of the process on both yachts.
Finally, we would like to inform you that a series of boat shows will start this autumn where our agents will also be present.
